KATHMANDU: Group discussions were held on various reports presented at the ongoing second statute convention of the CPN-UML.
On the second day of the convention, Saturday, delegates engaged in group deliberations on political, organizational, statute amendment, and commission reports.
According to UML, participants were divided into ten groups, each assigned reports related to their designated areas.
Delegates from Koshi, Sudurpaschim, Madhes, Karnali, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Gandaki Provinces held separate discussions, while another group was formed for the Valley Special Province, mass organizations, liaison coordination committees, and representatives from abroad.
Similarly, representatives from central bodies and departmental structures of the central office were grouped together, while another group was created specifically for the organizing bodies, with the purpose of providing suggestions only, UML Publicity Department Chief Rajendra Gautam informed.
He also mentioned that the separate proposal by Standing Committee member Karna Thapa was sent for discussion as per the party chair’s advice.
Each group is tasked with reviewing the main points of the political, organizational, statute, and commission reports, suggesting amendments where necessary, and submitting a written report to the Debate Notes Committee.
Gautam added that group leaders will present these reports at the closed session on Sunday, after which the convention will make its final decisions.
