KATHMANDU: In a virtual meeting organized today by Gen Z Nepal, a majority of participants agreed to propose former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as the head of an interim government.

The meeting, which lasted for more than six hours, was the first expanded session of Gen Z and saw the participation of over 4,000 members from across the country.

According to the mandate of the meeting, Gen Z Nepal will hold further discussions with Karki before reaching a final decision.

While consensus emerged on Karki’s candidacy, other names were also briefly discussed.

Sushila Karki is Nepal’s first female Chief Justice.

Gen Z Nepal has been spearheading nationwide protests against government corruption and the decision to shut down social media.

The group has continued to spread its views and demands widely through social networking platforms.
