KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has issued three urgent proposals to address Nepal’s ongoing political crisis.

Acting President Dol Prasad Aryal stated that all-party consensus must guide the process, prioritizing good governance, the spirit of the Constitution, and the people’s fresh mandate.

RSP emphasized the crucial role of the Gen-Z generation in recent political movements and pledged their mandatory involvement in the upcoming Prime Minister selection process.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to supporting candidates proposed through all-party consensus.

RSP stressed that it will not compromise on the Constitution’s spirit, federal democratic governance, rule of law, citizen supremacy, pluralism, and protection of fundamental rights.

Referencing Article 83, the party highlighted the need to maintain stability and functionality in the National Assembly.

RSP demanded that the interim government conduct elections for the House of Representatives within six months, balancing them with the ongoing movement’s mandate.

The party urged the President to take direct initiative in guiding Nepal’s transitional political process.

It also demanded a high-level judicial probe into the repression during the September 8 movement, including human casualties and damage to public property.

RSP proposed the formation of an independent commission to investigate major corruption cases since 1990, with the process to start within 15 days of a new government taking office.
