KATHMANDU: The low-pressure system driving the monsoon remains close to its normal position, continuing to shape weather conditions across Nepal.
Moisture-rich winds from both the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are pushing into Nepal, keeping the atmosphere damp and unstable.
The Weather Forecasting Division reports that skies will remain generally cloudy across much of the country this afternoon.
Some hilly areas, especially in Bagmati and Lumbini provinces, are expected to see moderate rainfall, while other regions may get light showers.
Isolated heavy downpours are possible in hilly zones of Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces, as well as in the Terai areas of Lumbini Province.
By tonight, hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will remain cloudy, while the rest of the country experiences partly cloudy skies.
Moderate rainfall is forecast for parts of the hilly regions in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Madhesh provinces.
The Division has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Madhesh provinces overnight.
