KATHMANDU: Calls have emerged within the Janamat Party for the resignation of party Chairman CK Raut and Organizational Department Chief, Dr. Jaykant Raut, CK Raut’s elder brother.
Six senior party leaders, including Senior Vice-Chairman Abdul Khan and Spokesperson Dr. Sharad Singh Yadav, have demanded their resignation.
They cited the influence of the recent Gen Z uprising and emphasized that a leadership change is essential to safeguard the overall interests of the party, restore political credibility, and regain public trust.
“In their capacity as responsible office-bearers, we sincerely request Janamat Party Chairman Dr. Chandrakant Raut (C.K. Raut) and Organizational Department Chief Dr. Jaykant Raut to voluntarily resign from their positions within 24 hours,” the statement read.
“If facilitated by your cooperation, we express our commitment to unite in transforming the party into a stronger, democratic, accountable, and people-responsive institution,” statement adds.
