KATHMANDU: The monsoon trough is currently situated near its average location. Moisture-laden winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are also influencing Nepal’s weather.
Most parts of the country are generally cloudy.Light to moderate rainfall is occurring at a few places in Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati provinces, and at one or two places in the remaining provinces.
According to measurements taken this morning, the flows of the Koshi, Narayani, Bagmati, Karnali, Mahakali, and their tributaries, as well as the Kankai, Eastern Rapti, Western Rapti, and Babai rivers, remain below the alert level.
The Kamala River is flowing near the alert level, according to the Flood Forecasting Division.
The flow of small rivers in Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, and surrounding districts is expected to rise significantly, with a high possibility of medium-risk flash floods.
Similarly, small rivers in Ilam, Jhapa, Panchthar, Tehrathum, Dhankuta, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Makwanpur, Nuwakot, Kavrepalanchok, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Arghakhanchi, Palpa, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Nawalpur, Nawalparasi, Banke, Bardiya, Dang, Surkhet, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Doti, Dadeldhura, Baitadi, Darchula, and nearby districts are likely to experience significant rises in water levels, with a moderate possibility of medium-risk flash floods.
