KATHMANDU: Six senior leaders of the Janamat Party resigned on Thursday, a day after giving party chair CK Raut a 24-hour ultimatum to step down.

Those resigning include Senior Vice Chair Abdul Khan, Central Spokesperson Dr. Sharat Singh Yadav, Youth Wing Coordinator Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Health Workers’ Wing Coordinator CK Singh, Sudurpaschim Province In-Charge Rajaram Chaudhary, and National Council member and Central Committee member Bikram Bahadur Bam.

The leaders said the party leadership failed to reflect on the country’s crisis and the people’s expectations, demanding leadership change.

They accused Chair Raut of dismissing their concerns and insulting the Gen Z protest movement.

The six leaders stated they would not engage in self-serving politics and pledged to work with and support leadership aligned with the aspirations of the younger generation.
