KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has demanded a government probe into the property of individuals who have held high public office since 1990.

Concluding its central committee meeting today, the party also called for an inquiry into illegal cash and assets allegedly discovered at leaders’ residences during the recent Gen Z movement.

The RSP decided to convene an extended central committee meeting from October 31 to November 1. The gathering will also deliberate on preparations for the party’s first general convention.

A probe committee was formed to determine whether RSP members were involved in incidents at Nakkhu Prison and other areas on September 9.

The party said it would draw the government’s attention to restrict the then Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Communication Minister from engaging in political activities until the investigation report on state suppression and violence during the September 8–9 protests is released.

To build stronger engagement with young people, the meeting set up a five-member task force led by central committee member Pukar Bam.

The group will focus on dialogue and cooperation with Gen Z youth and emerging forces. The party formed a seven-member manifesto drafting committee under Vice President Dr. Swarnim Wagle.

The committee will prepare commitments for the upcoming general elections scheduled for March 5, 2026.
