KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has decided to collect and update the voter list until November 16.

In a meeting held today, the commission approved the voter registration and update process to ensure that citizens turning 18 by March 4, 2026 are eligible to vote.

Following the Gen Z uprising, the interim government led by Sushila Karki had announced elections for March 5, 2026.

Although voter registration was initially scheduled to stop after the election announcement, the government amended the provision through an ordinance on Wednesday, allowing the commission to continue collecting and updating the voter list.
