KATHMANDU: Four youths from Bhaktapur were swept away by a flash flood in Bering Khola, Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-4, Rasuwa, on Saturday evening.

The group of 16 had stayed overnight at a hotel on Friday, October 3, while trekking toward Langtang.

The missing are 25-year-old Sanskriti Shrestha and Kishan Shrestha from Thimi, Sangita Shrestha, and 23-year-old Rabi Shrestha from Bhaktapur-10.

Following reports from guide Roj Karmacharya, a 22-member joint rescue team from the police and army was deployed.

Due to the remote location, the team had to reach the site on foot, taking about six hours from nearest police post in Syafrubesi.
