KATHMANDU: Traffic has resumed on the Araniko Highway and the Charikot–Kathmandu road following clearance of landslides that had blocked the route.

An official from the Road Division Office in Bhaktapur confirmed that landslides in parts of Kavre and Sindhupalchok have been removed, allowing vehicles to move freely.

Cars and buses from Sindhupalchok, Dolakha, Kavre, and surrounding districts are now using the highway without interruption.

The landslides had previously obstructed traffic at several points along the Dhulikhel–Khawa and Pakucha sections of the Araniko Highway.

Continuous heavy rains and landslides had forced the road’s closure since Saturday morning.
