TAPLEJUNG: One person has died and six others were injured in a road accident involving a passenger vehicle took place on the road section at Angkhop in Sidingwa Rural Municipality-3, Taplejung.

According to the District Police Office, Taplejung, a Bolero jeep (Registration number Province 1-01-001 Ja 3470), heading towards Angkhop from Tharpu, fell off the road at around 6:30 pm today.

Lok Bahadur Kunwar, 60, of Angkhop, Sidingwa Rural Municipality-3, died in the accident, said the Office Information Officer and Police Inspector, Vivek Basnet.

Similarly, six other people were injured in the accident. All the injured are residents of Sidingwa Rural Municipality. Two of them are seriously injured. According to the police, Lok Bahadur Chauhan and Prakash Chauhan are said to be seriously injured. The injured have been rushed to nearby health facility.

Further investigation into the accident is ongoing, police said.
