KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to withdraw security personnel deployed in excess of the standard by two former prime ministers.
On Thursday, the ministry announced that security personnel deployed by former Prime Ministers Pushpa Kamal Dahal and KP Sharma Oli beyond the prescribed limit will be recalled.
According to a Home Ministry official, Dahal was found to have 34 security personnel beyond the standard, while Oli had 27.
“The decision to withdraw the security personnel deployed beyond the standard will be immediately implemented and officially communicated to the Police Headquarters,” the official told Nepal News.
The government assigns separate teams from the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police for the security of former prime ministers.
