KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress Central Working Committee meeting is set to take place today at 1 p.m. at the party’s central office in Sanepa.
Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who was injured in an attack at his residence in Budhanilkantha on September 9, 2025 during the Gen Z movement, is expected to attend the meeting.
This will mark Deuba’s first public appearance since the incident, as he had been absent from the previous meeting of party office bearers.
The meeting will focus on the changed political scenario following the Gen Z movement and discuss the party’s future strategies.
Although senior leaders have been holding continuous internal discussions over the past few days, the agenda for the Central Committee meeting has yet to be finalized.
The uncertainty stems from a lack of consensus on the proposal by General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma to hold the 15th General Convention within December.
To finalize the agenda, a session of the Executive Committee has been called for 11 a.m. today. Members invited to the Central Committee meeting include office bearers, committee members, invited members, and presidents of all seven provincial committees.
