KATHMANDU: The Shram Sanskriti Party staged a demonstration at Maitighar Mandala today, objecting to Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s recent remarks on the Nepal–India border.
The party also held a warning assembly, claiming the Prime Minister’s statement—alleging Nepal’s encroachment into Indian territory—was harmful to national interest and lacked basis.
Protesters demanded that the statement be withdrawn, calling it irresponsible. They carried placards reading slogans such as “Protect Nepali land,” “Safeguard national dignity,” and “Oppose irresponsible remarks.”

Speaking at the protest, party MP Aaren Rai said the remarks made in Parliament were inappropriate and risked misrepresenting border realities. He added that while border disputes exist globally, they should not be confused with allegations of territorial encroachment.
Rai said the party will continue to raise the issue in Parliament.
