KIMATHANKA:  Continuous rainfall since last night triggered a landslide that has completely blocked the Panchkhapan–Chainpur road section in Sankhuwasabha, halting vehicular movement.

According to Police, the landslide damaged the Bihibare–Bhaisichok–Pipaldanda stretch under Panchkhapan Municipality, washing away around 15 meters of roadway.

The incident followed flooding in the Chiungkhuwa River at Kalleri, which further weakened the hillside and caused multiple points of damage along the under-construction road.

Authorities said coordination is underway with local governments and construction teams to clear the debris. If weather conditions improve, efforts will be made to reopen the route within the day.
