KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has sounded the alarm over what he described as a growing reactionary trend in Nepal, warning that failure to address it could push the nation toward chaos and destruction.

Speaking at the UML Central Committee meeting held in Lalitpur, Oli emphasized the urgent need to steer the country back onto a path that is democratic, people-focused, peaceful, and oriented toward good governance and development.

Oli highlighted that the UML has become a prime target of criticism and attack—not due to flawed policies or governance, but because its policies have been effective and beneficial for the nation.

“We have been singled out more than others. Is it because we did bad work? No. Is it because our policies were harmful? No. The reason is precisely because our policies were good,” he said.

The UML chairman stressed that reversing the reactionary drift is essential to prevent further national decline.
