CHITWAN: Three workers were killed and two others injured when a wall of the Kisan Feed Industry in Ratnanagar, eastern Chitwan, collapsed on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at around 9:50 a.m. at Shantikunja Tol, Ward No. 12 of Ratnanagar Municipality when the factory suddenly crumbled.
According to police, five workers were injured in the collapse. Of them, three succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Sumra Darai (45) of Khairahani Municipality–2, Ramesh Damai (45) originally from Gorkha and currently residing in Ratnanagar–12, and Kamal Gurung (45) of the same area.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Khanal of the Chitwan District Police Office said the victims died while undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College.
The injured have been identified as Jitendra Mahato (39), originally from Parsa and currently living in Ratnanagar–12, and Akaj Prasad Tharu (40) of the same locality.
Both are being treated at Chitwan Medical College, and their condition is reported to be moderate, police said.
