KATHMANDU: Nepal has continued its unbeaten streak in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifiers.

With a brilliant batting display by Kushal Bhurtel and sharp bowling from Gulshan Kumar Jha, Nepal defeated Oman by 38 runs in their third Super Six match on Wednesday, maintaining their perfect run in the tournament.

With this victory, Nepal has strengthened its top position with eight points from four matches.

Carrying two points from the group stage into the Super Six, Nepal had earlier edged past UAE by one run and Qatar by five runs.

Despite the loss, Oman remains second and has also already qualified for the World Cup alongside Nepal.

Chasing a target of 152 runs, Oman managed only 113 runs, losing all wickets.

Binayak Sukla was Oman’s top scorer with 31 runs off 19 balls, hitting one boundary.

Mohammad Nadeem scored 25 runs, but the rest of the lineup failed to perform.

For Nepal, Gulshan Kumar Jha took three wickets for 31 runs in his four overs, while Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav bagged two wickets each. Sandeep Lamichhane added one wicket to his name.

Earlier, batting first, Nepal posted 151 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs.
