KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has extended heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Nepal Sambat 1146, emphasizing the festival as a symbol of Nepal’s historical pride, cultural identity, and national unity.

In his message, Prachanda highlighted that Nepal Sambat is a unique indigenous calendar belonging to all Nepali communities and a source of shared pride.

He recalled that during his first tenure as Prime Minister in 2008, Nepal Sambat was officially declared the national calendar, and in 2023, the government decided to include it in all official documents, institutionalizing the practice.

Prachanda further stressed that Nepal is at a critical juncture of reuniting the nation and advancing on a progressive path.

He called for strengthening democracy, upholding the federal democratic republic, secularism, and proportional representation, and emphasized that resolving current complexities is impossible without proactive democratic “servicing.”

He appealed for national unity among all political forces favoring change and called for full implementation of the Constitution, serious self-reflection, and commitment to social justice and prosperity.

Prachanda described these collective efforts as the true way to celebrate Nepal Sambat 1146.
