Three arrested for misbehaving with CAAN Director General Adhikari

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three individuals accused of misbehaving with Pradeep Adhikari, the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

The arrested have been identified as Kokil Shahi from Kavre, Sirjan Adhikari from Ramechhap, and Hem Tamang from Sarlahi.According to police, Tamang was arrested on Tuesday evening by the Lalitpur District Police, while Adhikari and Shahi were apprehended by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku.

Lalitpur Police SSP Hobindra Bogati said Tamang was taken into custody from Ekantakuna, while Adhikari and Shahi were detained from the Satdobato area.

Police have also impounded Tamang’s scooter, registered under plate number Ba 90 Pa 1613.

The incident occurred on the evening of October 19, when DG Adhikari, who was walking near Satdobato, was allegedly harassed by individuals riding a scooter.

After the incident, the suspects fled the scene, prompting a police investigation.

“With the help of CCTV footage, we identified the culprits and deployed a joint team from the crime investigation office and our unit for their arrest,” SSP Bogati said.

All three suspects are currently being held in Lalitpur Police custody for further investigation.
