KATHMANDU: The weather across Nepal, which had been affected by the Montha cyclone originating from the Bay of Bengal, is gradually improving, although light rainfall is still likely in some areas.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in a few hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces.

While some hilly regions may remain partly cloudy, the rest of the country will experience mostly clear skies.

The department stated that the influence of western winds and a low-pressure system formed over the Arabian Sea remains strong, keeping the atmosphere partly cloudy in some regions.

This afternoon, the weather in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces is expected to remain generally cloudy, while the hilly areas of Madhesh Province and other provinces will see partial cloud cover.

Other regions will have mostly clear weather. Tonight, the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces are likely to remain partly cloudy, with the rest of the provinces enjoying clear skies.

Light rainfall and snowfall are possible at one or two locations in the hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, the department added.
