KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started management of the wires and cables tangled in various parts of the metropolis.
Inspector at the KMC, Rameswor Paudel informed RSS that wire management has begun as pedestrians get troubled in their mobility, and vehicles meet with accidents due to wires scattered across different parts in the metropolis.
In the first phase, wire management is taking place in Putalisadak, Thapathali and Babarmahal areas of the metropolis, he shared.
The problem surfaced when different internet service providing companies and space TV networks have tangled wires on the poles installed by the Nepal Electricity Authority for electric lines.
Although these companies pay a certain amount to the authority for installing their wires, they have no contribution to manage the wires found scattered everywhere, it is informed.
