KATHMANDU: The CPN (UML) has finalized the participation structure for its 11th General Convention, to be held in Kathmandu from December 13-15.

According to the party’s latest Inter-Party Directive, a total of 2,127 delegates will represent various committees, commissions, clusters, and organizations.

Of them, 464 delegates will come from the Central Committee, three commissions, and the Central Advisory Council.

Provincial committees will send 45 delegates, each province contributing at least two women among five representatives.

The largest cluster is based on geographical representation — with  1,135 delegates from 165 federal constituencies.

Each constituency will send four delegates, including one woman and one youth under 40. If membership exceeds certain thresholds, additional women and open-category delegates will be added.

Under the special districts category, 47 delegates will participate. The Dalit quota will ensure at least 81 representatives, maintaining gender inclusion.

The workers’ cluster will send 49 delegates seven from each province, including three women. From UML’s foreign-based committees, 35 representatives will attend, including 10 from India and five each from America/Canada, Europe, Gulf, Asia-Pacific, and Oceania, all ensuring female participation.

Additionally, 32 central department members, one from the central office, and 137 representatives from 23 sister organizations will join.

Finally, the Secretariat will nominate 101 delegates, making the total 2,127 participants for the Kathmandu convention.
