Goods worth over Rs 26 billion shipped in three months from Birgunj Customs

BIRGUNJ: Exports through the Birgunj customs point have increased compared to the same period last fiscal year.

According to Chief Customs Administrator Bishnu Prasad Gyawali, goods worth Rs 26.59 billion were exported in the first three months of the current fiscal year.

During the same period last year, exports were valued at only Rs 8.84 billion. In the first three months of the ongoing fiscal year alone, 6.71 million liters of refined soybean oil worth Rs 13.98 billion were exported.

Similarly, 21.25 million liters of juice worth Rs 2.07 billion were exported during the same period.

Other major exports included 3.68 million liters of refined sunflower oil valued at Rs 1.70 billion, 24.9 million units of fabric worth Rs 970 million, and synthetic yarn worth Rs 660 million.
