WorldLink launches next-generation ‘6G Wi-Fi’ in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s leading internet service provider, WorldLink Communications Limited, has officially launched its next-generation Wi-Fi technology, WorldLink 6G, in a special ceremony held at Hotel Marriott, Naxal.

The company claims that the new 6G Wi-Fi technology offers 40 percent greater coverage and up to four times faster speeds than existing Wi-Fi 5G, making internet usage from homes to offices more reliable, stable, and seamless.

At the event, Dilip Agrawal, Chairman and Managing Director of WorldLink, inaugurated the new technology, stating, “Wi-Fi 6 is a critical step in taking Nepal toward a smarter, faster, and more efficient digital era. WorldLink remains committed to customer satisfaction and innovation.” He noted that the company, founded in 1995 while he was studying in the U.S., has now reached a milestone with the launch of 6G.

Representatives from Nokia highlighted the global impact of Wi-Fi 6 and emphasized that the WorldLink–Nokia collaboration will significantly support the expansion of international-standard internet services in Nepal.

The ceremony also saw WorldLink announce its sponsorship of the Kathmandu Gorkha team for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025. Team coach Monty Desai and management representatives Sambhav Sirohiya and Suraj Singh Thakuri received commemorative tokens from WorldLink CEO Keshav Nepal, along with best wishes for the upcoming season.

In his remarks, Keshav Nepal emphasized WorldLink’s commitment to not only technological leadership but also continuous support for sports and the community, pledging to help transform Nepal into an even more “smart, fast, and connected country.”
