KATHMANDU: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the Nepal Airlines Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding for the joint promotion of Nepal’s tourism in the international market.
As per the agreement, the agencies would collaborate on publicity of tourism fairs via digital campaign and on familiarization trips, mega events and branding activities.
The national flag carrier would be included as a ‘partner airlines’ in the promotional programmes like tourism fairs, sales mission, road show and press conference abroad. Similarly, Nepal Airlines would transport the publicity materials as high as 100 kg for free of cost to the flight destinations.
Scheme of gift ticketing would be in place for joint programmes. Such initiatives are expected to create positive message in the international market. In the international event, celebrity personality, journalists, bloggers, and tour operators would be included in familiarization trips and for broader visibility.
In the events to be organized in Nepal as well, foreign artists, film producers, sports persons and celebrities would be encouraged for wider publicity of Nepal’s tourism.
Following the signing ceremony, Chief Executive Officer at NTB, Deepak Raj Joshi, termed the agreement on collaboration a milestone on boosting Nepal’s image in global arena and expanding Nepal’s reaches. “Nepal Airlines is a matter of pride for us. The strategic collaboration between the two institutions would contribute to set up ‘Nepali brand’ and promote tourism in Nepal.
The information from airport to tourism destinations would be further bolstered, he said, expecting hope that the integrated promotion would earn unique identity of Nepal. It would further play an instrumental role in sustainable tourism development.
Both agencies would make progress review every six month, it was shared.
