KATHMANDU: Karnali Yaks has lost to Pokhara Avengers in the match played under the ongoing second edition of Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Tuesday. With this Karnali Yaks is the first team to be ousted from the NPL.
In the match played at Kirtipur-based TU International Cricket Ground on Tuesday, Pokhara Avengers defeated Karnali Yaks by 34 runs, depriving the latter of the opportunity for another match. Karnali Yaks was not able to secure more than two points from six matches.
On the other hand, Pokhara Avengers made four points from five matches. Chasing the 202 runs victory, Karnali Yaks was limited to 167 runs in 19 overs. Although Mark Watt for the Karnali Yaks made maximum runs of 59, other players could not perform well.
Rishi Dhawan took three wickets for Pokhara Avengers. The team had made 202 runs in 20 overs at a loss of two wickets.
It is the highest score of this season. Earlier, Biratnagar Kings had set 220 runs against Pokhara.
