KATHMANDU: A delegation of the Jay Matribhumi Party met Prime Minister Sushila Karki and submitted a memorandum on Thursday. The party reminded PM Karki that the government prioritized the essential mandate of good governance rather than merely concentrating all power in elections.

The delegation comprised the party’s senior leader Captain KB Limbu, Co-Chairman Ram Sharan Pandey, and General Secretary Govinda Giri, among others.

The party called for prompt action against those suppressing the Gen Z movement and corrupt individuals in a bid to create an atmosphere conducive for elections.

On the occasion, PM Karki asked the delegation to participate in the elections with its own agenda. She informed that efforts were continued against corruption.

She complained that there were politicians rife delivering speeches, but ignoring production within the country. “There is rising disenchantment among youths, causing protests. Now, let’s work in a manner creating atmosphere where there will no more need for such protests,” PM Karki said, urging the party to send capable leaders to the parliament through the participation in House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5.
