KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by 9.43 points on Wednesday to close at 2,705.38.
According to NEPSE, a total of 21,641,883 shares of 324 companies were traded through 89,766 transactions, resulting in a total turnover of Rs 8.92 billion.
Among the sectoral indices, the “Others” group was the only gainer, rising by 0.26 percent. All remaining sectors closed in the red. The Banking index fell by 0.18 percent, Development Bank by 0.59 percent, Finance by 1.67 percent, Hotels and Tourism by 1.88 percent, and Hydropower by 0.03 percent.
Similarly, the Investment index declined by 0.64 percent, Life Insurance by 0.36 percent, Manufacturing and Processing by 0.46 percent, Microfinance by 0.26 percent, Mutual Fund by 0.65 percent, Non-Life Insurance by 0.30 percent, and Trading by 1.21 percent.
Kalika Power Company Limited recorded the highest gain of the day, with its share price increasing by 9.84 percent. In contrast, Gurans Microfinance Financial Institution Limited suffered the biggest loss, with its share price falling by 5.89 percent.
In terms of transaction value, Akhu Khola Hydropower Company Limited topped the list, with shares worth Rs 436.36 million exchanged through the trading of 1,880,454 shares.
