BANKE: Thirty-five of the 78 juvenile detainees who escaped from the Naubasta Juvenile Correction Home in Baijanath Rural Municipality of Banke during the Gen Z protest remain at large.

The correction home confirmed that 43 escapees have been apprehended and returned so far.

The detainees fled on the night of September 9, 2025, the second day of the protest, following clashes with police.

Despite a government deadline of October 6 for all escaped prisoners to return, 35 juveniles are still missing. Police said search operations are ongoing.

According to the Home, five individuals were killed and two injured when police opened fire during the escape.
