BIRATNAGAR: The Koshi Province Government has decided to recommend to the Province Chief to convene the upcoming winter session of the Province Assembly on February 8.
Providing information about the decisions of today’s cabinet meeting, Minister of Internal Affairs and Law Indramani Parajuli said that the cabinet meeting has also made six other important decisions related to provincial development and the legal structure.
The government has approved the Koshi Province Planning Commission Formation and Operation (Formation Order) 2082, which was amended by the Council of Ministers’ Law, Justice and Provincial Affairs Committee.
Similarly, an agreement has been reached, in principle, to draft the Koshi Province Legal Assistance Bill to make arrangements for legal aid in the province.
The meeting has passed a proposal to provide tax exemption for vehicles used in the Koshi Pump Chandra Nahar Canal Irrigation Project, which is being operated under mutual agreement between the governments of Nepal and Japan.
It has been decided that the provincial government will provide a 12.5 percent matching fund to effectively implement the Rural Road Network Improvement Project. Under this programme, the federal government has provided Rs 770 million in capital and Rs 7 million in current funds.
The Provincial Council of Ministers has approved the Koshi Public Housing Procedure 2082 with standards to secure the housing rights of disadvantaged citizens.
