KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has completed the printing of 3 million first-past-the-post (FPTP), or direct election, ballot papers for the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 21.
According to Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the ballots were printed for 25 districts. Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Bhattarai said the printing work for the FPTP system in these districts has been fully completed.
He added that around 17 million ballot papers are still left to be printed. The Commission is currently printing between 1.2 million and 1.5 million ballots per day to meet the election deadline.
The Election Commission has been accelerating the printing process to ensure timely distribution of ballot papers ahead of the polls.
