Monetary support pouring in Samba’s accounts, she thanks all contributors

KATHMANDU: The Nagarjun Resort has extended Rs 100,000 to support the treatment of Sabitra Bhandari ‘Samba’, the captain of Nepal’s National Women’s Football Team. Resort proprietor Niroj Panta confirmed that the amount has been directly deposited into Bhandari’s bank account.

On Monday, Bhandari took to social media with an earnest appeal for financial assistance as she prepares to undergo complex surgery on both knees. Currently in New Zealand pursuing her football journey, the prolific striker shared that the injuries require intricate medical intervention.

As she wrote on social site today, within just 24 hours, more than Rs 10 million was deposited into her bank account in Nepal, while an additional Rs 4.5 million was raised through international platforms for her treatment.

Bhandari has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all those who showered love on her and contributed for the collection of funds for her treatment. She has kindly urged everyone to halt further contributions, saying the support received is enough. She assured her fans, supporters and well-wishers that that she will return to Nepali football once she has fully recovered.
