NEPSE rises by 6.03 points, transaction amount declines on final day

KATHMANDU: On the last trading day of the week, today (Thursday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has increased by a marginal amount.

This week, NEPSE remained open for all five trading days. In which the share market, which went down on the first day of the week, went up during the remaining four trading days. While NEPSE decreased by 27.59 points on Sunday, it went up by 2.41 points on Monday, 21.62 points on Tuesday, and 10.30 points on Wednesday.

Thursday as well, NEPSE went up by 6.03 points. Compared to the previous day, the transaction amount has decreased today. Compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE increased by 0.22 percent and settled at the 2,654.93 mark.

On Thursday, the Sensitive Index also rose by 1.93 points and stopped at the 456.51 mark. The Sensitive Index increased by 0.42 percent compared to the previous trading day. In NEPSE today, 10,053,145 shares were bought and sold through 44,204 transactions of 335 companies.

According to this, transactions worth Rs 4.174 billion took place in NEPSE on Thursday.

In NEPSE, transactions worth Rs 6.699 billion took place on Sunday, while transactions worth Rs 5.138 billion took place on Monday. Similarly, while transactions worth Rs 4.232 billion took place on Tuesday, transactions worth Rs 4.451 billion took place in NEPSE on Wednesday.

Out of the 13 groups traded in NEPSE on Thursday, the share prices of four groups decreased. The share prices of the remaining nine groups saw green. Accordingly, while the indicator of the Commercial Bank group went up by 0.64 percent, the Development Bank by 0.13 percent, and the indicator of the Finance group by 0.71 percent, the Hotels and Tourism group went down by 0.16 percent.

Similarly, hydropower increased by 0.05 percent, investment by 0.35 percent, and life insurance by 0.03 percent. Today, Manufacturing and Processing decreased by 0.41 percent, Microfinance by 0.28 percent, and Mutual Fund by 0.25 percent.

Likewise, non-life insurance increased by 1.09 percent, others by 0.05 percent, and the trading group increased by 0.46 percent.

On Thursday, the share prices of 137 companies increased in NEPSE, while those of 118 companies went down. Similarly, the share prices of seven companies remained stable.

In NEPSE, which was fluctuating throughout the day, the investors of Salpa Bikas Bank earned the most on Thursday as well. The investors of Salpa earned 9.99 percent in share price on Thursday. A positive circuit had occurred in Salpa’s share price on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. That is, the share price had increased by 10 percent. On Monday and Thursday, however, the share price of Salpa went up by an equal 9.99 percent. Yesterday, Wednesday, a positive circuit had also occurred in the share price of Reliance Spinning Mills. The final trading price of Salpa remained at Rs 584.

Similarly, on Thursday, the investors of NIBL Debenture lost value in their share units. Its share unit went down by 3.60 percent.

Api Power Company had the highest turnover on Thursday. Transactions worth Rs 326.8 million of Api took place today. Its final share price remained at Rs 312 per share.
