KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has announced that a combination of a western low-pressure trough, local winds, and easterly winds will bring light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning to the hilly and mountainous regions today.

Brief rainfall is expected in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as isolated areas in Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpashchim, and the Terai plains of Madhesh and Koshi provinces.

This weather pattern will continue into the night for the eastern and central hills.

Meanwhile, hot and summery weather conditions are expected to persist across the Terai plains of the Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.
