KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, who was arrested early Saturday morning, has been taken to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for a medical check-up.
He has been placed in Bed No. 27 of the hospital’s Red Area. The Red Area is designated for patients with serious and complex health conditions.
Oli is a kidney transplant patient, a nephrologist is scheduled to conduct a thorough health check. Subsequent medical procedures will follow the doctor’s recommendations.
Oli, who was detained from his residence in Gundhu, was initially brought to the District Police Range, Bhadrakali. He was later transferred to the hospital from police custody.
According to police sources, he was taken for examination due to existing health concerns. Oli is known to have kidney-related issues and takes regular medication.
Authorities said the decision to move him to the hospital was made keeping his health condition in mind.
