KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has granted police an additional two days to keep former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in custody for further investigation.

Both leaders were arrested last Saturday, and the court had initially authorized a five-day remand. However, citing incomplete investigation, police presented them again before the court on Thursday seeking an extension.

Following the hearing, the court approved the extension of their detention. Oli, who has been hospitalized since Saturday citing health issues, appeared before the court through virtual means.
