KATHMANDU: Sobita Gautam, Nepal’s Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, has disclosed her assets, including land, cash deposits, gold, and share investments, according to details published by the Prime Minister’s Office.

The disclosure shows that Gautam owns land in Kathmandu and Chitwan jointly with her husband and mother-in-law.

She has declared 10 tolas of gold received during marriage and 5 tolas of inherited gold, along with 9 tolas of inherited silver. The statement also notes that she received one tola of diamond as part of marriage gifts.

Her bank deposits include Rs 368,867 in NIC Asia Bank, Rs 46,874 in Rastriya Banijya Bank, Rs 481,767 in Nabil Bank, Rs 144,553 in Machhapuchchhre Bank, and Rs 8,274 in Global IME Bank.

In terms of business and investments, Gautam holds a 50 percent stake in Globe Trot Himalaya Tours and Treks. She also owns 6,500 promoter shares of Sopa Multiple Company, each valued at Rs 100.

On liabilities, she has taken loans of Rs 2 million from Rastriya Banijya Bank and Rs 2.5 million from Everest Bank for vehicle purchases. Her husband, Grihendra Ghimire, is reported to own a vehicle worth Rs 9.5 million, financed through a bank loan. The disclosure further notes the purchase of a scooter worth Rs 275,000.
