KATHMANDU: The process for Members of Parliament (MP) to receive facilities for personal secretaries has been initiated.
On Monday, a meeting of the Federal Parliament Secretariat Operation and Management Committee moved the process forward regarding the provision of personal secretary facilities for lawmakers.
According to the Speaker’s Secretariat, the meeting, chaired by Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal, decided to write to the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs to make the necessary legal arrangements for this matter. The meeting saw participation from National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal, Deputy Speaker Rubi Kumari Yadav, National Assembly Vice-Chairperson Lila Kumari Bhandari, the General Secretary of the Federal Parliament, and secretaries from the House of Representatives, National Assembly, and the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
Previously, on September 21, 2025, the government led by Sushila Karki had abolished the post of personal secretary for members of Parliament.
