Nepal beat UAE by 37 runs in ICC Cricket World Cup League 2

KATHMANDU: Nepal secured a 37-run victory over the United Arab Emirates in a match under the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 201 runs, the United Arab Emirates national cricket team were bowled out for 163 runs in 48.2 overs.

For Nepal, Karan KC was the standout performer with four wickets. Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami picked up two wickets each, while Dipendra Singh Airee and Lalit Rajbanshi claimed one wicket apiece. For the UAE, Harpreet Singh top-scored with 39 runs off 52 balls, hitting five fours. Muhammad Waseem added 34 runs, while Akshdeep Nath contributed 30.

Earlier, at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal were asked to bat first after losing the toss. They were all out for 200 runs in 48.2 overs.

Dipendra Singh Airee was the top scorer with 75 runs off 90 balls, including five fours and two sixes. Nepal had a shaky start, with Aasif Sheikh dismissed for seven runs and captain Rohit Paudel falling for just two. Kushal Bhurtel scored 24, Basir Ahamad added 20, and Karan KC chipped in with 22 runs.

Among the other contributors, Bhim Sharki made 10 runs, while Arif Sheikh and Sompal Kami scored 15 runs each.

For the UAE, Junaid Siddique and Ajay Kumar took three wickets each. Khuzaima Tanveer claimed two wickets .
