ABU DHABI: The Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Tanahun Sewa Samaj, UAE, organized a literary program on Sunday to mark the 213th Bhanu Jayanti, featuring an open composition recital and the launch of books by Nepali writers based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Addressing the event, Nepal’s Ambassador to the UAE Tej Bahadur Chhetri praised Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya’s enduring contribution to the Nepali language and literature, while highlighting the important role of the Nepali diaspora in preserving and promoting the language and literary tradition abroad. He also thanked Nepali writers in the UAE for continuing their literary pursuits.
The event saw the launch of around 10 books authored by Nepali writers working in the UAE, while about 45 participants, including children, recited their literary works. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the participants by Tanahun Sewa Samaj.
Around 125 people attended the program, including embassy officials, representatives of Nepali community organizations, literary groups, and members of the Nepali diaspora.
