KATHMANDU: Oman secured a dominant 102-run victory over Nepal via the DLS method in the 99th match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.

Batting first after winning the toss, Oman posted a commanding total of 305/8 in their allotted 50 overs, powered by a brilliant century from captain Jatinder Singh, who scored 130 off 96 balls and was named Player of the Match.

He was well supported by Aryan Bisht (35), Jiten Ramanandi (43), and Hammad Mirza (30), helping Oman build a strong platform.

For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airee took two wickets each, while Sompal Kami picked up four wickets.

Chasing a revised target of 258 runs in 36.5 overs due to rain interruption, Nepal struggled from the start. Early wickets of Kushal Bhurtel (1) and Aasif Sheikh (19) put them under pressure. Bhim Sharki (28) and captain Rohit Paudel (10) also failed to convert starts.

Dipendra Singh Airee top-scored for Nepal with a fighting 60 off 62 balls, while Gulsan Jha remained unbeaten on 14. However, regular wickets and a slow scoring rate restricted Nepal to 155/7 in 36.5 overs, well short of the target.

Oman’s bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Nadeem Khan taking 3 wickets and Shakeel Ahmed and Muhammed Imran picking up two and one wickets respectively.

With this win, Oman earned 2 points while Nepal ended the match without points.
