KATHMANDU: Senior officials of Tribhuvan University have stepped down after the government moved to introduce an ordinance aimed at scrapping all political appointments.
The ordinance, which has been recommended to the President, triggered the collective resignation of key office bearers.
Those who resigned include Vice-Chancellor Deepak Aryal, Rector Khadga KC, and Registrar Kedar Prasad Rijal.
Their resignation marks a significant development in the country’s higher education sector, as the proposed ordinance seeks to reform appointment processes and reduce political influence within academic institutions.
