KATHMANDU: The government is running a multi-service health camp at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor for squatter communities evicted from the banks of the Bagmati River and its tributaries.

The camp provides pediatric, gynecological, dental, and psychosocial counseling services.

Displaced people are receiving treatment and registration services on-site, with referrals made to government hospitals for further care when needed.

By Friday evening, 68 people had received medical services. Another camp in Kirtipur is also offering eye and dental care.

The OPD services at Dasharath Stadium are being coordinated by Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital with support from multiple hospitals including Paropakar Maternity Hospital, Patan Mental Hospital, Kanti Children’s Hospital, and Bir Hospital.

Medical teams, including doctors and nurses from several institutions, have been deployed, while medicines and supplies are being managed through coordination with health authorities.

Officials said the initiative aims to address immediate health needs, including physical illnesses and psychosocial stress among displaced families, while ensuring early diagnosis and referral for further treatment where required.
