KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at one or two places in Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces on Monday.

At present, the weather remains generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions, including Madhes Province, while the Terai region is experiencing partly cloudy conditions.

According to the Division, light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is occurring at a few places in Koshi, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

The Division stated that tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy across the country.

There is a likelihood of moderate rainfall with thunder, lightning, and windstorms at some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and at a few places in Madhes, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is also a chance of snowfall in some areas.

Similarly, on Tuesday, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy nationwide.

Moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at some places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and at a few places in the remaining provinces.

Recent forecasts also indicate continued unstable weather conditions across Nepal, with widespread rain and thunderstorms expected in multiple regions in the coming days.
