KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel has issued an ordinance on the Constitutional Council today.
The government had once again recommended the ordinance for presidential approval after it was previously returned by the President to the government for reconsideration.
A cabinet meeting held on Monday had decided to resubmit the ordinance to the President.
Earlier, out of eight ordinances recommended by the government, President Paudel had issued seven. However, he had returned the ordinance related to the Constitutional Council, seeking further review.
The ordinance provides that a meeting of the Constitutional Council can be conducted with the presence of just four members, and decisions can be made by a majority of the members present.
