KATHMANDU: Activists have demanded the immediate demolition of the Chhaya Devi Complex in Thamel, alleging that it was built by encroaching on the public pond.

Members of Sampada Sanrakshan Nepal, including Chair Kabir Dangol, staged a protest at Maitighar Mandala, calling on the Supreme Court to order the removal of the structure.

The protestors claim the complex was constructed by filling the historic public pond area and have urged authorities to take immediate action.
