Police in Ilam district on Tuesday morning arrested a man on charge of severely injuring Dik Bamjan (45) with a sharp weapon from Lalikharkha in Suryodaya Municipality-2.

The arrested has been identified as Sunil Gole (38), a local resident of the same municipality in the district.

Gole attacked Bamjan with a sickle during an altercation during road construction work along the Lalikharka to Hile section. Acting on a tip-off, Pashupatinagar-based Area Police Office security personnel nabbed Gole.

Injured Bamjan has been taken to Birtamode-based B&C Hospital in Jhapa district for further treatment.

Further investigation into the case is underway, informed the police.
