MUGU: More than 13,500 domestic and foreign tourists have visited the tourist destination Rara Lake in the past nine months, according to the Rara National Park office.

Located at 2,900 metres above sea level, the lake is seeing a growing number of domestic visitors, especially during the travel season.

Authorities say daily arrivals can reach up to 150 tourists, with Nepali visitors now dominating over foreign tourists.

Improved access, public holidays, and bus travel from cities like Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Nepalgunj have further boosted tourist flow, increasing hotel occupancy in the area.

Around 80 horses have also been arranged along the entry route to help visitors reach the lake more easily.
